The fourth quarter of 2005 was characterized by high activity in the Estonia real estate market, especially in Tallinn, Parnu and nearby surrounding areas. With the demand for properties continuing, there are warnings of not enough properties to meet demand, and the trend for increase in property prices persisted in every field of real estate.

Estonia gained independence from the Soviet Union since 1991 and it borders Latvia and Russia and is one of the small Baltic States lying on the Gulf of Finland.
Many tourists visit Tallinn, the capital city and stay in self catering holiday apartments. It is popular with the tourists for its shops, restaurants, museums and art galleries. Tallinn is home to one of the best-preserved old towns in Europe, where twisty cobblestone alleyways that give the area a mysterious otherworldly feel connect beautiful buildings dating back to 14th and 15th centuries.

On Friday we took a short cab ride from our Copenhagen hotel to our ship for embarkation procedures. The Rotterdam, Holland America’s flagship was launched in 1997, has a gross tonnage of 59,000 and holds 1600 passengers. That means it’s not one of the mega-cruise ships plying the seas. In November, 2009 the ship is due to go to Freeport in the Bahamas for a lot of refurbishing.
The passengers tend to be middle-aged and older, with a sprinkling of canes, walkers and wheelchairs. The crew does very well catering to the needs of this older bunch so it’s a pleasant experience.

Estonia is a beautiful country situated in the Baltic region of Northern Europe. The country is surrounded by Finland, Sweden, Latvia and Russian Federation. The country has a temperate climate with mild winters and summers. It is popular with tourists due to the constant nature of its temperature. The country is situated on the shores of Baltic Sea resulting in the climate being generally humid most of the time.
